The California Lemon Law covers new and used vehicles sold or leased in California that come with the manufacturer’s new vehicle warranty. If the manufacturer or dealer can’t repair a serious warranty defect in your vehicle after a “reasonable” number of repair attempts, the manufacturer must either replace the vehicle, or refund its purchase price (whichever you prefer).

The ACP certifies and monitors third-party arbitration programs of participating automobile manufacturers to ensure compliance with CA laws and regulations related to new vehicle warranties and manufacturer sponsored arbitration programs.

One of the ACP's goals is to promote the use of alternative dispute resolution in lieu of court action and reduce the strain and cost on consumers and the court system.
